Wayne Visits SHGC

SHGC TAP (Te Ara Pumanawa, “The path to potential”) students have a programme where they attend their tertiary placement (WITT or TOPEC) on Monday/Tuesday and their work experience on Thursday. On Wednesday and Friday they attend school for life-skills and RST.

The girls met author Wayne Benton who wrote “Real World Ready” and “Attitude Check”. He talked to them about his life and work and was impressed with their decision making and career planning.

SHGC Tappers include a civil engineer, a diesel mechanic, a hospitality/hotel management queen, a hairdresser, an ECE teacher, a beautician and a fitness guru.
